Once upon a time, there was a young man who behaved violently sometimes. His father gave him a bag full of nails and told him to insert a nail on the pavement every time he lost his temper and fought or argued with someone. The first day he reached 37 nails! The following weeks, he learned to control himself and the number of the nails was reducing significantly day by day. Finally, the day he inserted no nail, had come.
Ηe went right away to his father and told him that he used no nail that day. His father told him to pull out one nail for every day he managed not to lose his patience from now on. The days passed and the young man was again able to say to his father that all the nails had been pulled out. Then, the father led his son to the pavement in front of the garden and told him: "My son, you did well but look how many holes are on the pavement. This will never be as it was. When you fight with someone saying something bad and harmful for him, it is like you are leaving him with a wound like those holes. You can use a knife against your brother but even if you pull it out of his body the wound will always be there."It is of little significance how many times you will apologize for something bad you did, a wound made with words makes as much damage as a real wound on the body. So, from now on, measure your words carefully before you say something bad and think more wisely next time you are about to lose your temper".
